Our Philosophy

I believe that every client deserves the safety and security that connected relationships have to offer. To that end, my approach to therapy involves finding ways to cultivate emotional safety, not only in the therapy room but also in the context of the relationships where people live their lives. All clients, whether they be individuals, couples, or families, come into therapy as part of a web of interconnected relationships that impact their day-to-day lives. By addressing client concerns in the context of all of these interconnected pieces, we can more fully address the stressors of everyday life and identify solutions together.

Meet Rebecca

Every client deserves the safety and security that connected relationships have to offer. To that end, my approach to therapy involves finding ways to cultivate emotional safety, not only in the therapy room but also in the context of the relationships where people live their lives. All clients, whether individuals, couples, or families, come into therapy as part of a web of interconnected relationships that impact their day-to-day lives. By addressing client concerns in the context of these interlinked pieces, we can more fully address the stressors of everyday life and identify solutions together.

My approach to therapy is affirming and collaborative. My role as your therapist is to bring the expertise of the therapy process to your treatment, while you bring the expertise of your life. Both are essential to making progress towards your treatment goals.

This is also how I work with children. Not only do I include parents as an integral part of the process, I also utilize developmentally appropriate treatment approaches for children or adolescents. While we build this working relationship together, I provide personalized parenting support through the use of the Positive Discipline Parenting model. Together, we integrate play therapy, expressive interventions, talk therapy, parent sessions, and family sessions into treatment in the best combination for your specific family to help you meet your treatment goals.

With couples, I strive to help both individuals identify ways they’re struggling to connect. Together, we find the roadblocks that are impeding communication, and identify the root of the problem. By understanding the underlying emotions, points of pain and longing within the relationship, we can see how communication is breaking down and why addressing those emotional vulnerabilities allows us to work towards fostering a deeper connection for both partners.

I have experience working with families across the lifespan: from the challenges of neurodivergence, to life transitions, to the unique stressors of the LBGTQIA community. My role is to help you navigate the most stressful times in your life with an experienced guide.

My educational background includes degrees in linguistics and anthropology as well as a seminary-based degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, so I have both academic and practical experience working with families from faiths and cultures from across the world.

Rebecca Street is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, Positive Discipline Parent Educator, American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy Clinical Fellow and Approved Supervisor, Level II Trained Attachment Based Family Therapist, member of the World Professional Association of Transgender Health, and a member of the Association for Play Therapy. Meet Obi

Obi is a 4-year-old Labradoodle mix. Obi loves his job because his favorite thing in the whole world is people. Whether it be giving you a big smile, empathizing with you when you're sad, or just being there for you to cuddle while you discuss something challenging in your session, he is there for it all.

No stranger to needing help himself, Obi needed an additional year of training after being attacked by another dog so that he could still fulfill his dream of being a therapy dog.

In his free time, he likes to cuddle with his siblings, play tug, and go on paddleboarding and camping adventures with his mom, Rebecca.

Obi doesn’t know what strangers are because every new person he meets is his new best friend. Obi is known to greet every client with the utmost enthusiasm every single session.
